1. Agreement
By registering, placing an order, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Platform.
2. Our role
Vanby operates a watch trading platform. Items are supplied by onboarded consignors, while the Platform is responsible for authentication review, matching the transaction, order flow, and handling after-sales requests. The "supplier" field on each item page names the party offering that watch.
3. Item information and the watch file
- Condition, year of production, reference number and included accessories for each watch are recorded item by item in the "watch file", which you can read before ordering.
- Pre-owned watches are one-of-a-kind. Condition is a professional assessment and may differ from your own subjective view. The accessory list follows the physical item.
- Illustrative images generated by the system are used to indicate the appearance of a model and do not represent the condition of the physical item. The actual condition is governed by the watch file and the authentication review.
4. Accounts
You register with a valid email address and contact details, and you are responsible for activity under your account. If you believe someone else is using it, contact us immediately.
5. Ordering and payment
- Item pages show the total price. The amount due is fixed by the payment method you choose when you order; the order starts as "created" and, once paid, moves to authentication review and shipping. The make-up of the price is set out in section 7.
- Prices and availability are governed by the live information on the item page.
- Each pre-owned watch is unique and is reserved when you order. Orders not paid within a reasonable period may be cancelled and the item returned to sale.
6. Authentication review and shipping
After payment, we verify the movement, appearance and accessories item by item, and ship once everything checks out. If the review does not pass, the transaction is cancelled and refunded in full. Once shipped, you can follow progress in "My orders".
7. Pricing and fees
- The price shown on an item page is the total you pay. It already includes the watch price (the market price submitted by the consignor) together with the service fee; if you pay by card it also includes the bank processing cost. For readability, fees are not itemised on the item page — the breakdown below is definitive.
- The service fee is charged on a three-tier scale by the amount of the watch (buyer side): at or above $50,000: 3%; $5,000 – $50,000: 5%; below $5,000: 6%. It covers item-by-item authentication, authenticity review and after-sales protection, is charged once with the order, and no other service fees are added on top. Tier boundaries are applied in US dollars after converting the CNY price shown on this site. Clicking "Buy now" on an item page or "Pay" on an order means you have read this notice and the fee structure set out in this section.
- Card processing fee: paying by bank wire transfer incurs none. Paying by card incurs 3.5% of the watch price, covering the card network's cross-border processing cost, shared equally between buyer and consignor. It is already included in the card amount shown on the item page and order page, and is never charged on top.
- You may switch the payment method before paying by reselecting it in "My orders"; the amount due is then recalculated.
- Currency and conversion: prices are denominated in Chinese yuan (CNY). If your card issuer settles in a different currency, the exchange rate and any cross-border transaction fee are charged by your issuer under its own terms and are not fees charged by us.
- Fees follow one uniform three-tier schedule for both sides (at or above $50,000: seller 4% / buyer 3%; $5,000 – $50,000: seller 6% / buyer 5%; below $5,000: seller 8% / buyer 6%): each side is charged the rate for its own side, and there are no separate sets of books. Retail orders are based on the market price submitted by the consignor; peer-to-peer transfers are based on the peer price, with both sides charged at the same tier rates, domestically and across borders alike. Retail customers see amounts based on the market price, while trade partners and sales advisors see amounts based on the peer price — the basis differs, so the same watch shows a different figure at each entry point, while the rates themselves are identical.
8. After-sales and returns
If the item does not match its description, you may file a request on the "After-sales" page. The scope, time limits and process are set out in the Refund and returns policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Prohibited conduct
- Providing false information, impersonating another person, or ordering with someone else's account.
- Malicious ordering, repeatedly tying up inventory, or filing after-sales requests in bad faith.
- Circumventing the Platform to trade privately, or dismantling or repairing an item without the Platform's confirmation.
10. Intellectual property
The Platform's design, copy, data and systems belong to Vanby or their respective rights holders. Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here only to describe the genuine origin of the items offered.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a transaction is limited to the amount you actually paid for it. We are not liable for losses caused by force majeure, logistics delays, or your own actions, though we will help you resolve them.
12. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated as our business changes; the version on this page governs. The governing law and forum follow the jurisdiction stated under "Operating entity and applicable information" at the bottom of this page.
